This is a beautiful, lace shawl I’ve knit 3 or 4 times. I’ve knit it in DK weight, and lace weight. It’s absolutely stunning and can be knit on many looms and only requires 40 pegs. It’s a fast knit, too! My most recent shawl took me 2 days from start to finish! I used the CinDwood 1/2″ 66 peg loom.
The yarn I used was bought at yarn.com called “Whisper Lace” by fibra natura in “Strawberry Sundae”. It’s a beautiful variegated, kind of gradient yarn, that goes in whites, reds, and dark wines. It’s super fine, and comes in 440 yard skeins. I didn’t use all 440 yards. I love it, and have a couple balls in other colours.
My Fair Faroese is a half-circle shape made in 5 sections. To create a Faroese on a knitting loom, the shawl is loomed from one corner to the other, using 4 triangles and a straight center section. My Fair Faroese creates a medium sized shawl, that falls above the waist, and wraps nicely around your shoulders. Pattern directions are given step by step, row by row. If you are not comfortable working in fingering weight yarn, you may make this pattern “simple” by using DK weight yarn.
The pattern can be found at The Invisible Loom, on Ravelry, or an alternate page on The Invisible Loom.
