Loom Review: KB His & Hers Fine Gauge Sock Looms

A sock I knit with my KB Hers Sock Loom

The KB HIs and Hers Sock Looms are a great alternative to many other kinds of sock looms, like adjustable ones, or less pricey versions found at CinDwood. First, off, I love these looms! I’ve only used the 56 peg “Hers” sock loom, which is orange. It’s 1/4″ gauge (1/4″ from center of peg to peg) and this is perfect for standard sock yarn.

Both looms have a peg count that can be divided by 4, which makes 2×2 ribbing (knit 2, purl 2 or knit 3, purl 1,etc) easy to keep track of. The pegs are sturdy, but flexible, but don’t break. The pegs are also small enough for fine gauge yarns, but big enough that any loom hook will fit and easily work the yarn with the pegs, not needing a smaller or sharper hook (like I’ve found with ones with metal pegs)

The looms are light weight, and easy to handle, easy on the wrists. Sock yarn works perfectly. with them! I did find it’s difficult to cast on them with a crochet hook, the plastic makes them harder to fix if they do get broken, and they are very small. All in all, they’re pretty great.
