This was a pretty basic sock. I used Kroy’s Sock yarn, from yarn.com, which I got a bunch of for Christmas! (12 balls!) so expect more socks! I love knitting socks, but lost my pattern book, and haven’t knit socks in a while. So I went through some tutorials on doing the heels and toes, and grafting the toe at the end.
I did this sock top down, with the rim’s first. Some people start with the toes, I haven’t tried that yet. I used patterns/ideas from Sock Loom Projects and the KB His/Hers Sock Loom in 1/4″ gauge. Both are great.
The sock is basic, ribbed. So, for my foot, I did the first 50 rows, k2 p2 around, as I was using a 56 peg loom and it was a multiple of 4. Then I did the heel (tutorial coming) and for the foot, I did ribbing halfway, so I knit 28, k2 p2, next row, p28, k2, p2, forming a garter stitch on the bottom, and the ribbed pattern on the top.
I cast off by moving 28 pegs from one side to the other, and then grafted together with an embroidery needle and yarn. I didn’t do the best job, but it’s been years. I love this little loom!
Pattern
This pattern works with any loom with a multiple of 4 pegs, for example, 24, 48, 56, 64, etc. This is because the ribbing is 2×2, so 4 stitches.
The knit stitch (K) used is e-wrap. For a tighter sock, use u-wrap or true knit stitch. I don’t recommend flat knit stitch for socks.
P is for the purl stitch.
It can be adjusted (number of rows) to as many or as few as you want.
Crochet cast on 56 (or your chosen number) of pegs and join in the round.
R1: K2, P2, around
R2-50: K2, p2 around.
R51: Knit around

Heel (and toe)
This is done in short rows. Put a marker on your first peg and peg 28. Knit from peg 1 to peg 28, wrap the peg beside 28, (peg 29) turn, and knit back to peg 1, and wrap peg 55.
Knit from peg 1 to peg 54, wrap peg 55, and turn, knit to peg 2, wrap peg 1, turn.
Knit from peg 2 to peg 53, wrap peg 54 and turn, knit to peg 3, wrap peg 2, turn.
Knit from peg 3 to peg 52, wrap peg 53 and turn to knit to peg 4, wrap peg 3, turn.
Knit from peg 4 to peg 51, wrap peg 52, turn, knit to peg 5, wrap peg 4, turn.
Knit from peg 5 to 50, wrap peg 51, turn, knit to peg 6, wrap peg 5, turn.
Knit from peg 6 to 49, wrap peg 51, turn, knit to peg 7, wrap peg 6, turn
Knit from peg 7 to 48, wrap peg 49, turn, knit to peg 8, wrap peg 7, turn
Knit from peg 8 to 47, wrap peg 48, turn. Knit to peg 9, wrap peg 8, turn
Knit from peg 9 to 46, wrap peg 47, turn. Knit to peg 10, wrap peg 9, turn.
Knit from peg 10 to 45, wrap peg 46, turn. Knit to peg 11, wrap peg 10, turn.
This is finished shaping the first half. Now we go in the opposite direction. Some pegs will have 3 loops on them for a round or two.
Knit from peg 10 to peg 46 (knit all loops as one on peg 46), wrap peg 47, turn
Knit from peg 46 to peg 10 (knit all loops on peg 10 as one), wrap peg 11, turn.
Knit from peg 11 to peg 47, wrap peg 48, turn.
Knit from peg 47 to peg 12, wrap peg 12, turn.
Continue doing this until there are no more wraps.
R 52: Knit all around.
The foot is different because everyone has different sized feet. I wear a size 7 1/2 or 8 womens. 50 rows seems to be good for me. If you measure your knitting and foot, leave 2 to 2 1/2″ inches for your toes.
R: 53: K 28, *(K2, P2) x 14
R 54: P 28 (K2, P2) x 14
Repeat 53 & 54 until you’re ready to do the toe. Do the toe as directed above, the same as the heel.
Bind off in your preferred way.
You’ve made a sock!
